Ao Daimaru Eggplant (Solanum melongena)

Ao Daimaru Eggplant (Solanum melongena): Another gift from Japan, this beautiful, delicious vareity of green eggplant dates from the early Meji period, at the end of the 19th century. It is considered a delicacy, the fruit, up to 250 gr, haas the shape of a pear, light green skin, and white pulp.  It is very tasty, remains dense and creamy when cooked, it is perfect for many recipies, even fried. The plant is small and not very productive, it's suitable for pots, where it can really flaunt the beauty of its fruits. It should be sown about 45 days befor transplanting, but it is necessary to take care of the germination temperatures since, like all eggplants from Asia, the temperature must be at least 24°c. NOt the easiest eggplant to grow, but certainly worh it.
