Black Radish from Spain (Raphanus sativus): this variety is so ancient that its origins have been lost over time. It is great for culinary purposes because of its firm, delicate pulp; it is also used in cosmetics and medicine. According to Egyptians drawings it is believed they considered black radishes sacred and used them as medicine, in Ayurvedic tradition, the black variety is considered the stronger one.
